Question 1

What waste types do Cheapa Skips accept?

Accepted Answer

Cheapa Skips accepts general household waste (furniture, mattresses, appliances, lawn clippings), commercial and construction waste (tiles, timber, gyprock, metal), green waste (palm fronds, branches, tree trunks up to 400mm diameter), mixed heavy waste (landscaping, turf, glass, dirt, bricks, concrete), soil and clean fill, and concrete and bricks. Hazardous items such as tyres, paint tins, gas bottles, and asbestos are not accepted.

Question 2

What skip bin sizes does Cheapa Skips offer?

Accepted Answer

Cheapa Skips offers a full range of Marrel skip bin sizes: 2-3m³ (bathroom renos, small cleanups), 4m³ (moving house), 5m³ (medium general waste), 6m³ (construction sites), 8m³ (bulky items), 10m³ (heavy materials), 12m³ (large industrial jobs), and 15m³ (very large or heavy waste). The right size depends on your waste type, as bulky items take more space than green or general waste.

Question 3

What items cannot be placed in a Cheapa Skips skip bin?

Accepted Answer

Restricted and hazardous items that cannot be disposed of in a Cheapa Skips bin include tyres, paint tins, flammable materials (gas bottles, petrol cans), motor parts with oil or grease, and asbestos. Placing restricted items in a skip bin contaminates the load and you will be responsible for the additional cost of separating those materials. Asbestos removal must be handled by licensed professionals.

Question 4

Where can a skip bin be placed on my property?

Accepted Answer

Cheapa Skips bins can be placed in your preferred location where practically accessible. They can also be placed on the nature strip (verge), provided the skip does not obstruct pedestrian walkways. The bin should be positioned so it is easy for you to fill and easy for our truck to collect.

Question 5

Does Cheapa Skips sort or recycle waste?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cheapa Skips sorts recyclable materials from general rubbish wherever possible at their sorting facilities, helping to reduce landfill impact and ensure responsible disposal.
